ETHICAL & ECO POLICY

We have worked very hard to ensure that all of our products and packaging are ethical and sustainable. We have searched for and made sure that our suppliers have the same ethical stance and eco policies as us. All of our suppliers are working hard to reduce their carbon footprint by only using ethical and sustainable products, reducing the amount of water and plastics used in their production, and reducing the amount of gases produced.

The clothing industry can be renowned for bad working conditions around the world. All of our clothing is made by companies that are certified by GOTS and audited by the Fair Wear Foundation. This means that employees have the best possible working conditions.

Most of our clothing is made from 100% organic cotton. Organic cotton is a natural, GMO-free fibre that uses less water than standard cotton. In addition, its production does not involve the use of chemicals (no fertilisers or pesticides) and encourages rotation of crops to keep soil healthier, more fertile and maintain humidity. All of our 100% organic cotton items are GOTS certified.

Recycled Polyester - Some of our hoodies and sweatshirts contain up to 15% recycled polyester. One jacket enables the recycling of between 7 and 8 PET plastic bottles. And to ensure that our sweatshirts are nice and soft against your skin, it is never in direct contact with the polyester, which is sandwiched between two layers of organic cotton. The Global Recycled Standard label certifies that the materials used are recycled: in the case of polyester, from plastic bottles. GRS also guarantees compliance with social and environmental criteria such as treatment of waste water, the absence of certain toxic additives and respect for working conditions in our partner factories.
Tencel® and Modal® Fabric - Some of our tshirts contain Tencel® and Modal®, these are biodegradable and made from eucalyptus or beech tree pulp. Eucalyptus is known for being a fast-growing wood that does not require irrigation. The Tencel manufacturing process has received the “European Award for the Environment” from the European Union due to its low emissions.

All of the fabric in our clothing has OEKO-TEX Standard 100, this certifies the absence of harmful chemical substances.
Inks - The inks used for all of our products are water based and toxin free. They are OEKO-TEX certified which means they are vegan friendly, cruelty free, free from harmful chemicals, and eco friendly.

All of our clothing fabrics are PETA approved vegan and cruelty free. All of our other products and inks used for printing are vegan and cruelty free.

All of our packing slips are printed on recycled paper. All of our products are packaged in eco friendly, zero plastic packagingOur paper postal mailing bags are manufactured from responsible, sustainable sources to comply with FSC® certification. The paper is both compostable and degradable, and paper mailers can be easily recycled, making this the perfect eco-friendly option.

Giving Back

We are also working to give back to the causes we care about! A percentage of every purchase will be donated to charities that help animals, wildlife, nature and the earth. We will also be planting one tree for every item purchased in the Madagascan mangroves!

The first charity is Surge Animal Rights Organisation - Surge is a grassroots animal rights organisation, founded by animal activist Ed Winters (Earthling Ed), determined to create a world where compassion towards all non-human animals is the norm. Their vision is a world in which all animals are free from human-inflicted oppression and violence.

The second charity is OPS - Oceanic Preservation Society works to inspire, empower, and connect a global community of activists through film and never-before-seen images that expose the most critical issues of our time. Working to expose the truth and protect the planet. Some of their most popular films have been The Cove and The Game Changers.

The third charity is the Born Free Foundation - Founded by Will Travers, Virginia McKenna OBE and Bill Travers MBE. Virginia and Bill starred in the classic wildlife film Born Free. They work tirelessly to ensure that all wild animals, are treated with compassion and respect and are able to live their lives according to their needs. They work to conserve and protect wild animals, natural habitats and functioning ecosystems in perpetuity. Born Free aims to end the exploitation of wild animals whether free-living or in captivity and to ‘Keep Wildlife In The Wild’.
At checkout you will be able to choose which charity you would like a percentage of your purchase to be donated to!

We have also partnered with Ecologi who will be planting one tree in the Madagascan mangroves for every item purchased within our store! The mangroves store 4 x the carbon compared to tropical rainforests. Ecologi are also now planting tress in the UK, Mozambique and Nicaragua! You can see the amount of trees our customers have planted in our own live online forest here - LoveSoul Forest.
